Church Beautification Ministry
Love getting your hands dirty? Want to help keep St. Gerard’s looking its best? We’ve got plenty of projects around the church that could use a little TLC—mowing, weeding, painting, small fixes, and all sorts of odd jobs. Pitching in not only makes our parish shine, it also saves the church thousands of dollars—money that can go toward other ministries and professional projects that really need it. So grab your gloves (or a paintbrush!) and give Father Young a call or text at (770) 289-3466. He’ll be happy to put you to work! |

Homebound Ministry

Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is an association of Catholic men faithful to the Church and dedicated to the four cardinal principals of charily, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. We are an active group of men dedicated to service. This includes fish fries, breakfasts, helping with building and lawn care around the church property, hosting a gold tournament, assisting Coats for Kids, Special Olympics, and a special needs Christmas party. Any male 18 or older and a practicing Catholic can become a Knight! General Business Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month. For more information about our parish's local council, contact Kieron Gleeson at (423)240-1798 or [email protected]. Welcome Committee
Our vision is to create a joyful, inclusive, and faith-filled environment where all who enter St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church feel seen, welcome, and inspired to grow in their relationship with Christ by becoming active participants in the life of the parish. We embody the spirit of Christ’s hospitality by warmly greeting all parishioners and visitors, providing resources and personal connection, and encouraging active involvement in the many ministries that make up our vibrant Catholic Community. Mothers Study
Are you a mom with a baby or toddler? You’re invited to join other moms for a new study at our parish called Navigating Motherhood—a supportive, faith-filled space to connect, learn, and grow through the joys and challenges of early motherhood. Beginning in January, the course will meet twice a month for 9 sessions. Moms with children under 2 who complete the study will receive a special gift—a needed baby item such as a crib or car seat. If you’d like to participate or learn more, please contact Amy Wigley at 423-208-1261 or [email protected]. |

St. Vincent de Paul Society
Be the hands and feet of Jesus by helping the needy in our community. Answer phones, meet with clients, and organize the food pantry. The vision of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is to change the face of charity by offering hope and help to those we serve through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We offer a hand-up, not a handout, to those we serve in our community. We offer assistance with food, utilities, rent and other personal needs. It is not easy asking for help so their requests are always handled with confidentiality and consideration for their privacy and with dignity. The St Vincent de Paul Society, St Gerard Majella Conference extends assistance to our neighbors living in Chickamauga, Flintstone, Fort Oglethorpe, Lafayette, Ringgold, Rock Springs, and Rossville. They do not have to be of the Catholic Faith or attend our Church. Our service is there for all our neighbors in need within these 7 cities. We are one of eight Conferences in the North Georgia area which is known as District 9. We report directly to the St Vincent de Paul Society Georgia located in Atlanta. We meet at 7:00 p.m. the first and third Monday of every month. All are welcome to stop by to see what we do! We host the Gabriel's Hope Pantry on the third Saturday of every month from 10 - 11am. If you would like to join our conference and help us with our mission, please email [email protected]. For more information about the St. Vincent de Paul Society Georgia, visit Home - SVDP Georgia. Those in need of assistance, reach out to our helpline at 678-892-6163, leave a phone number, name and a brief message as to what is needed. Someone will call back within 48 hours. |
